What Are The Chances Of A Miscarriage With A Retroverted Uterus?

Hi,
I have a retroverted uterus. Had an t/v us on Saturday and was told pregnancy was not viable as no heartbeat was detected. Not sure of my dates but know I am at least 6 weeks. CRL was 7 mm. How likely is it that I will miscarry? Is it possible that as my tilted uterus is quite severe, it might just have been harder to find heartbeat? Or am I just holding out false hope?

Hello

Thank you for posting at HCM.

Though retroverted uterus is one of the contraindications for pregnancy as pregnancies are usually not viable due to position of uterus, with the modern advents and surgical interventions its possible to carry out pregnancy successfully.

In case of retroverted uterus, USG is usually more clear but if you have even a bit of doubt, its better to get another USG after 3 days. Also as you are unsure about dates, pregnancy maynot be 6 wks in which case heartbeat may not be found. Also get a gynec opinion for local examination.

Wish you all the best.

Feel free to open a new thread in case you have any more doubts.

Thank you.
