I have Barretts Esphagus ( with no dysplasia). I was diagnosed Oct 2013 and a second endoscopy was done in April 2014 to confirm it. I am not due for another endoscopy until April 2017. My doctor told me I have a 0.1 % yearly risk of cancer. Is my lifetime risk 5%. I have an irregular z line with short segment barretts. Also is this a common problem that other people can have and not know it and go through life with it?
