What Are The Chances Of Conceiving In A PCOS Person?
Hi, I have been trying to concieve since the past 6 months. I hav pcos and irregular periods, otherwise my hotmonal tests, thyroid etc are normal.. My doc put me on clomid frm day 2 of period for 5 days and gonal f 75 from 2nd to 10th cycle day on alternate days. On day 14 I had a folicular monitoring which shows a follicle of 29mm. Doc was confused whether its a follicle which din rupture or a cyst since its big. Anyways she gave me a trigger shot of hcg 5000iu. I am kind of desperate and anxious. .. is there any chance for me to get pregnant atleast this time :( Anyone with similar experience or success stories... would be a great support.
Dear member, Thanks for writing. pcos is a common cause of infertility. To get good ovulation response to drugs it's important to decrease the previous cyst in the ovary. I usually advise my patient to do following. 1.lose weight. BODY MASS INDEX should be less than 28. 2.ovacare forte for 3 months. 3.metformin thrice a day for 3 months. Also to avoid confusion about a follicle or a cyst I usually perform a scan on 2 nd day of period and also do a alternative day scan from day 10-14 . This way we can give the trigger Hcg injection on right day. I have found good results. Please write back or call to DR BHAGYASHREE Thanks Dr Bhagyashree
