General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
There are various techniques of tubal ligation that are and were in practice. Therefore, it depends a lot on the technique which your surgeon used. The current techniques are called as modified pomeroy's. with this technique it is possible for successful recanulation but the chance of pregnancy is not guaranteed. there is still around 30-40% chance that you may not become pregnant after reversal. Another risk is the possibility of tubal pregancy in a scarred tube. The reversal procedure is safe but the fruifullness of a successful pregnancy is questionable.
