What Are The Chances Of Getting An Infection After Sex Using A Condom?
Hi I need some reassurance that I am just worrying (hopefully!) I had sex using a condom with someone I didn't know. What are the chances of getting something infectios? I've ordered a sti test to do but I'm still so worried and want to know ASAP. I did use a condom and didn't even ejaculate. The reason I'm so scared is because since then I have had unprotected sex with a long term partner. I'm so upset by the situation and the shame is so so big. Please let me know your thoughts. Much appreciated

Thank you for writing in HMC the use of condom to prevent STDs is very effective. it can prevent HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trichomoniasis that are transmitted when infected urethral or vaginal secretions. however genital ulcer diseases (such as genital herpes, syphilis, and chancroid) and human papillomavirus infection are transmitted through contact with infected skin or mucosal surfaces for which condom is not effective. however it prevents the risk a lot many times rather than unprotected sex. also if your partner dint have any visible skin lesion, quit worrying and wait for the lab results.
