What Are The Chances Of Having A Healthy Baby In A Diabetic?
Hi Doc,
My wife is 27 and has diabetes. Our family doctor had put her on a tablet Exermet 1000 mg for 2 months. Then we planned a baby so she is shifted to insugen R 12 units (before each meal).
Do we have a good chance of healthy baby. She is not conceived yet. But we are planning.

I can understand your concern.
let me tell you something
type 2 diabetes is not pure genetic disoder.
it's true that diabetes genes will be inherited to children by both parents
but to develop diabetes,it's under influence of environmental factors like lack of exercise,obesity stress also......
so even you have diabetes related genes you can keep them away by following good and healthy life style.
there is 30% chance of inheritance of this genes if one of the parent is diabetic.
