What Are The Chances Of Preeclampsia In Women With Short And Petite Body?
My daughter in law is 32 weeks pregnant with twins. She is only 5 feet tall and very petite. She has only gained about 27 pounds. She still exercises every day by walking 3 miles or exercise bike 5 miles a day. I m concerned it s too much. Her legs and ankles are really starting to swell. She is very healthy, works at a job sitting 8 hours a day and commutes 1 hour each way so her legs are dependent for many hours daily. Shouldn t she be taking cutting back on the exercising? Should we be worried about preeclampsia? Thank you.
Dear; Let me give u an idea of preeclampsia. .. This is know as pregnancy induced hypertension which is most common in 1st pregnancy. Though the risk factors associated wid this includes short height along with heavy weight but most common cause remains idiopathic. As its a simple increase in blood pressure so it can be controlled with alpha methyl dopamine. In dis patients will duffer from heavy swelling all over body shortness of breath and frequent vomiting. The most dreaded complication is ecclaMpcia which is occurennce of seizure. It can lead to fetal demise along with maternal mortality. I recommend u to keep a proper record of urblood pressure. If it goes out of control plzplz visit an ER. WISH U A healthy pregnancy. Thanks
