What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After An Unprotected Sex?

I have an 11 month old daughter whom I breastfeed. My period came back when my daughter was around 8 weeks old, but due to breastfeeding my cycle has been irregular. I didnt have a period for March and I had unprotected intercourse at the end of that month and the first week of April. I got what I thought was my period in April and May, but nothing for June yet. I took 4 hpt's in April, May and June and they all came back negative, however I have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms like frequent urination (in April), fatigue (in April), lower back pain (June), occasional cramping (May/June), morning dizziness (June), and I am feeling what I think is actual fetal movement. What are the chances I could be pregnant?

Hi dear, you indeed are caught up in a peculiar delicate situation. I empathize your concerns.

In fact the breast feeding gives protection from pregnancy only if the breast feeding is given exclusively to the baby., which you are not giving. So you are in a vulnerable position for becoming pregnant.

I would have ignored all the symptoms when your repeated pregnancy tests have concluded negative. However, feeling of foetal movements cannot be ignored. I would advice you to get ultrasonography done.

The foetal movements start in second pregnancy onwards around 20-24 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, the ultrasonography is definitely conclusive. So please report to your Obstetrician and get ultrasonography done which will resolve the ambiguity.
