What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Transplant?
i am on dialysis and i have been taking megestrol for about 3 years to stop my cycle.my doctor put me on it because after i had my son, about two years later i began having cycles lasting 3-5 months.what are mychances if any that after i get a transplant that i will be able to get pregnant again
Hi, Since you have had 3-5 months cycles, I presume your ovulation pattern is disturbed. Thus, chances of natural pregnancy are anyway, less. Moreover, the medication used during transplant surgery and thereafter may not be compatible with a pregnancy. Nevertheless, if tubal and ovarian factors are normal, and if you have a smooth recovery, you can try to become pregnant again, but, a word of caution about the stress you may have to handle. Regular intensive monitoring is a must. Take care.
