What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Treated PCOS And Diabetes?

i am 42 yr old female married , but childless with diabetes under control, hba1c 6.8 , ht 5.2 and wt 68kgs, having high prolactin 38, and was diagnosed with complicated cyst in ovary, and i get regular pain in mid cycle time, was dignosed with poly cystic condition of ovaries, underwent laproscopic ovarian drilling 13yrs back. please advise, for my condition. Mc is regular - 3/30days.

Hi,
You can definitely have children provided proper evaluation is done before initiating any treatment. Bromocryptine should be given to treat high Prolactin levels while Metformin may be given to control the diabetes as it is also useful to lower insulin resistance seen in PCOD, thus helping in spontaneous ovulation. Considering your age, it is advisable to push things faster. AMH levels, antral follicular counts and ovulation studies give an idea of the ovarian reserve. If it is low, ART procedures are suggested straight away without waiting for natural conception. Hope this helps.
