What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy While On Depo Shots?
I got the depo shot about 3 weeks ago. Due to the fact that I had an abortion, they gave me it once the surgery was done.. I bled for 3 weeks and I just stopped bleeding about a week ago.. I just now spotted I think and it s bright red and a little dark.. I had unprotected sex last week, but I didn t use Plan B because I m on depo.. I have little back pains too, I m a little nauseous. Am I pregnant? This is my first time using the Depo shot so I m very confused.. Please help, thanks so much.
Hello, Thank you for using HCM. Depo provera is one of the most effective birth control medication but still there is a very small chance of failure. We say there is no medication that prevents pregnancy 100%, depo provera is pretty close to 100% but not 100%. If you are bleeding it might be also because the main side effect of depo provera is irregular bleeding. women that take depo provera may have spotting or bleeding on and off for the 12 week period that it has it's effect. If you are concerned for pregnancy you need to have a urine pregnancy test with the first urine in the morning (to increase sensitivity)- it is always good to be sure. Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
