What Are The Chances Of Recovering From Gall Bladder Cancer?
Hi there, I am a 30 year old female with 2 children. I recently went to the doctor for a suspected hernia, I was correct about the hernia, but they found two polyps in my gallbladder attached to the wall. One is 5mm and one is 11 x 12cm. The doctor wouldn t give me my report information, I glanced at the report on the computer whilst she left the room and it said that the tumor is a suspected adenocarcinoma and definitely not a benign cholesterol polyp. Could they have gotten it wrong? Could it still have a chance as presenting as benign? And what are the chances over overcoming gallbladder cancer at my age? I ve had no other health problems. Thank you.
As per my clinical experience, the gall bladder carcinoma is very rare entity particularly at the age of 30 years. The chronic gall bladder inflammation as chronic cholecystitis with Porcelain gall bladder is usual cause of gallbladder cancer. However, the biopsy of the lesion is definite answer to your query rather than worrying without histological evidence.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
