What Are The Chances Of Regaining Heart Beat In Foetus?

Ultra sound radiologist says my baby s foetal activity has ceased, and its a case of missed abortion. My wife is 11 weeks pregnant. We had seen the heart (cardiac tube) tube a few days back on the imaging screen. A homoeopathy physician has suggested that this has become a common phenomena and the heart beat will recur by taking caulophyllum for a day or two. I fear the delay may prove adverse to the health of my wife. Please advise. Regards, Talib Ansari Mumbai,India.

I share your concerns about your unborn baby and your wife's health. But I feel sad to say that chances of heart beats coming back are very remote. However some time radiologist may miss the heart beat, but if he has confirmed that heart beats are not there (which they confirm when they are pretty much sure), there's no chance that it will come back.

In my opinion you can go for a second scan. If this scan also confirms absence of heart beats, please go for induced abortion as it may be dangerous for your wife to continue this pregnancy or wait for abortion.
