What Are The Chances Of Survival After Putting Stent In Artery?

hi my 80 years old grandmother is getting stent in her one of the arteries of the heart. docs say that her 3 arteries are blocked but 1 is the major one..so they are treating that one now..will she be able to survive after this...she had an heart attck in the morning..docs say she had 2 in a row

Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. Difficult to say her chances of survival with so little clinical information provided, but certainly if she is having a major heart attack due to a blocked artery of the heart her chances of survival are better off intervening than if nothing were to be done. This is even more true for ST segment elevation heart attacks (aka "the big one") in older adults like her.
