What Are The Drug Interactions Of The Use Of Xanax, Tramadol/acetaminophen, And Compazine In A Man Of 85 Years Of Age?
I would like to know drug interactions of the use of Xanax, tramadol/acetaminophen, and Compazine in a man of 85 years of age. Patient was very out of it almost catatonic. How long will the effects last? Patient is in rehab for recent pneumonia and found to have adenocarcinoma of the lung.
Hello Xanax (alprazolam), compazine(prochloroperazine) and tramadol/acetaminophen combination have a significant drug interaction. They all increase sedation and the patients has to be closely monitored more so because all the three drugs are involved. Duration to come out of the effect of medications depends upon the dose and how well the body is able to metabolise them. For an elderly person around 85 years old, the effects will be more and also the metabolising capacity would be reduced. So it will take a bit longer time than usual to get off the effects. I hope the above information helps. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a nice day.
