Without symptoms will a surgeon go inside my ears to check for otosclerosis ? My mother was diagnosed with otosclerosis when she was 20 and had a stapeodectomy which failed right from the beginning. I am a musician and would like to know if I am developing otosclerosis. I am 30 years old and have no symptoms at all , so far. I am worried , as music is my career and my life. I would like to put this worry to rest and would like to know if I am developing otosclerosis without knowledge of it. As there are no real tests for otosclerosis, when no symptoms have showed up and no genetic tests either, I was wondering if a surgeon would be willing to lift my tympanic membrane and take a look inside my middle ear to check for any signs of Otosclerosis. Thank YOu
