What Are The Effects After Stopping The Intake Of Klonopin?

I am coming off of Klonapin after being on it for 28 years. I went away for 2 mos. to detox from it. I was taking 3 milligrams a day. My question is, is it still normal to feel like a outerbody experience or like it s a surreal experience. Things don t seem like they are really happening. It s been 59 days already, help...

Hi,

It's always difficult to withdraw benzodiazepines. The maximum withdrawal effect of these drugs is in the first few days to first few weeks.

However certain of the effect may last months to years (protracted phase of withdrawal). These symptoms are more psychological and your symptoms may well fit into it.

I personally would advise you should see your psychiatrist for follow up and discuss these issues with him. Psychotherapy may well be helpful in these symptoms.
