Changed Anxiety Medicine From Xanax To Klonopin. Which Is More Addictive Xanax Or Klonopin?
Is xanax more dangerously addictive than klonopin? I took xanax for years and was concerned about the addictive dangers. i asked my psychiatrist to change my anxiety med, so i am now on klonopin, and have been taking klonopin for quite a few yrs now. i take 1 mg tablet, 3 to 4 times a day. am I addicted to klonopin? Is that so bad if it keeps me from being anxious?
Hello, Thank you for asking this question. Although alprazolam (AL) has an established efficacy for treating generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder, some patients experience rebound symptoms at the end of a dosing interval. Clonazepam (CZP), which is therapeutically as effective as AL but twice as potent, is suggested as a substitute for AL since it offers a more gentle taper and helps minimize rebound symptoms. The addiction of both those medicines means that after some times of usage the specific receptors related with those medicaments will get adapted so you will need more medicine to have the same effect as before. You will not get addicted like can'y live without taking that medicine.
kind regards
