What Are The Effects Of Taking Percocet, Vyvanse And Neurontin During Early Pregnancy?
i was taking percocet and muscle relaxers from back surgery and vyvanse and neurontin all before i knew i was pregnant... will my baby be affected? first day of last period was july 7th, stopped taking painpills and muscle relaxers july 22 and vyvanse and neurontin august 6th
The painkiller and muscle relaxants that you were using are not a problem since you finished them before the fertilization day. The Vyvanse and neurontin are drug category C in pregnancy which means are not allowed and can potentially cause birth defects in animals but yet not known to humans.
You have used them for short period so abortion is not necessary. Continue the follow up tests with your doctor that check for birth defects.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
