Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
the last 2 days i my fever has flucuated between 99-100. when it is up, i am so achy. then it may break and go back up. i am drinking water, lots of water, and maybe 2 small glasses juice. what is different from all my other colds or URIs, i have no appetite.
This kind of fever is called low-grade fever. There can be many causes for this. we need to have a detailed history and clinical examination for the same. Fever can be due to low-grade respiratory infection- lower or upper. maybe it is different from your previous attack, but this is definitely a very common reason. You can take a pain killer and keep monitoring the temperature so that any major fluctuations can be picked up. Do some gargles and avoid spicy and oily things. Instead, take small frequent meals. Focus on taking bland food, fruits, and salads.
Besides this, sometimes a low-grade urinary infection can also cause low-grade fever- (hope there is no burning micturation ), keep drinking enough water. There are many other causes with fancy names. I feel if your symptoms do not improve with the above measures, then you go for some tests - complete blood count, urine routine test, CRP.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
