What Are The Harmful Side Effects Of Smoking During Pregnancy?

My friend quit smoking weed at about 24-25 weeks and she so scared it is going to show up in her babies system when she is born and they test her stool. She smoked about 2 bowls a day for 3 yrs but when she found out she was pregnant she cut back to 1 bowl a day or every other day.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query smoking weed during pregnancy could effect fetus throughout the pregnancy since first to last month. It can cause growth problem in fetus. It will lower down immunity of your body as well as that of incoming fetus and susceptibility to certain infection diseases.I would suggest you to stop it immediately. It could result in low birth weight babies, miscarriage, abortion. If it is giving you much addiction taper the dose and eventually stop. If after baby birth you will start having it again it will reach by milk and will stay in baby system and will start giving adverse effects.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
