I am a R.N. I have a patient in a LTC facility who may have shingles, two of the cna s that do her care are pregnant? What are the health risks to CNA or baby if pt does have shingles? As far as I can see, only major concern is if the mother has had chickenpox or vaccine. Is there a health risk to the baby (second trimester)? I want to be able to reassure her tomorrow, if pt does infact have shingles. We also have a 11 wk pregnant CNA that cares for this pt. Same questions. Do you think LTC facilities should start vaccinating pt s that qualify for the vaccine?I I don t have the money to pay for an answer at the moment, please help. I don t want the CNA s panicking tomorrow!! I am sorry I don t have the money to pay, feel free to email me if you can YYYY@YYYY
