What Are The Immediate Risk To Body By Quitting Drinking ?

I am drinking one liter or one fifth of vodka per day, I have done this for at least 2 years.. I am married with two kids and recently got out of the army. I would like to know what is the risk of quitting drinking cold turkey . I do smoke and barely get any physical exercise.

Hi,

Quitting alcohol abruptly without medical supervision can cause serious complications like seizures and delirium. The amount of alcohol that is being consumed is not the only factor but a lot also depends on other issues like physical condition, liver functioning, seizure threshold etc. In my opinion, quitting alcohol should always be done under medical supervision for best results.

Best wishes.
