Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After reading the entire label twice on a bottle of Alli weight loss aid (Orlistat 60mg.) The label clearly states under Warnings: Allergy Alert; "do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in orlistat capsules" however, "Ingredients or Other Ingredients" is not shown anywhere on the label. Can you tell me what the other ingredients are?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Every medicines contains active ingredients & some inactive ingredients. Active ingredient of Alli weight loss aid is Orlistat 60mg. Orlistat is a drug used to treat obesity. It acts by preventing the absorption of fats from the human diet by acting as a lipase inhibitor & thereby reducing caloric intake. It should be used along with reduced-calorie diet to treat obesity. Every medicines contains some inactive ingredients as well. They control the dispensing of drug as well as giving it a colour or form. If you does not have previous history of any allergy to orlistat or any other medicine, you can take this under prescription of a physician. However self medication of any drug should be avoided as there are side effects of every medicines too. I would not suggest you taking this except under suggestion of a doctor.
