What Are The Long Term Side Effects Of Stalopam, Paxil-CR And Melzap?
My 21 year old daughter has anxiety, fearing some unknown, sleeplessness, cries sometimes- she has been prescribed recently to take - Stalopam 5 (one in morning), Paxi- CR -12.5(one during night) and Melzap -.5 ( 1/2 tablet twice a day) . The drugs are prescribed initially for one month. Wanted to know the long term effect of these medicines.

Melzap can cause dependence so must be gradually withdrawn, Paxi may need to be continued for long term for few months as anxiolytic, as the side effect period initially which may include set up symptoms including serotinine syndrome usually occur at very start of the treatment. Abruptly stopping the medicine may cause side effects more than the treatment so follow up with primary psychiatrist is must.
