Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Lumps Found In The Throat Near The Glands?
My best friend just advised she is taking her 22 year old daughter to urgent care. Hair loss, fatigue are main symptoms. Had ultrasound done and found a cyst on one side and nodule on other side of thyroid. Waiting for blood work to come back. Also has some pea size lumps more up towards the glands in her throat. Any idea what this might be.
As per your query you have symptoms of lumps found in the throat near the glands which is due to infection of upper respiratory tract , phrangitis and it could be due to inflammation of tonsils. You should avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to take throat lozenges and do warm saline gargles. You should take antibiotic Levofloxacin in combination with antiallergic medicationLevocetirizine. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get blood and throat swab test done and get it examined. Start treatment after proper prescription. Take soft or liquid diet. Drink plenty of fluids specially warm water with ginger extract and one spoon honey in it.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
