I got thyroid gland cancer two year ago and took operation to cut it totally ,it is bad. The doctor ask take the pill to control the TSH lower than the range. Now TSH is 0.08. But my menstrual periods is light and less frequent. But now i want to get pregnant, the gynecologist suggest me take less pill to rise the TSH. Can you give me some advise of the level of TSH for the thyroid gland cancer who want to pregent. Thanks!
The normal ranges for TSH are trimester-specific. 1. First trimester - 0.1 to 2.5 microIU/ml 2. Second Trimester - 0.2 to 3.0 microIU/ml 3. Third Trimester - 0.3 to 3.0 microIU/ml
However raising your TSH levels can cause growth of the thyroid cancer, which depends upon the initial risk assessment of the cancer.
You should see the initial physician or endocrinologist whom you consulted, for proper risk assessment of your thyroid cancer, before making any attempt to reduce the dose of thyroid cancer.
Hope it helps....
