What Are The Possible Repercussions Of Hitting Ear In A Swimming Pool?
Hi my little sister is 8 years old and she was playing in our swimming pool well her twin brother accidently knocked his head in to her ear and she came out screaming will it really red and it ringing she said well my mom tried cleaning her ear with hydrogen peroxide and when it first hit her ear she screamed and cried it wasn t like it sat in her ear and it started hurting it was when it hit her ear
With such trauma, injury to the eardrum is a possibility due to pressure effects.
However facial trauma or underlying bones injury can't be ruled out. X-ray of face or Maxilla and paranasal sinuses may be needed if pain persists.
TMJ joint sprain may occur but less likely in this case. An otolaryngologist review or orthodontic specialist review may be needed. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
