Hello, I have bicuspid aortic valve and previous subclavian coarctation repair ( age 7). The left ventricle functions well with an ejection fraction which is normal at 60-65%. The left atrium is, in fact, only mildly dilated ( 22.8mls/m2). The gradient across the aortic valve remains only at 15mmHg. The aortic regurgition remains only mild to moderate with a pressure half time 380 milliseconds but on the background of a normal left ventricle ( dimensions 5.4 and 3 ) there has been no progression. Eco done 28th march 2013. I also had coartation repair stented ( age 29 ). I was admitted december 6th 2013 with bradycardia with junctional escape rhythms, causing some dizziness and presyncope. I had a dual chamber PPM fitted and restarted on 25mg od Atenolol. PPM set to not go below 60bpm. The reason I am wirting to you is that I am very lost in my self, as I don t know what the future holds for me. I am 36years old with young children, and I feel tired. I worry a lot, but keep it to my self. I am due to start back at work on the 20th jan. I do manage to have good blood presure. And I am also very slim, 80kg. 6 foot tall. I just worry that won t reach a good age. Thank you for letting me write on this page. Aly
