What Are The Possible Treatments For Stomach Cancer?

My dad is 79 yrs old. He has bleeding ulcers in Nov 2013. 3 were cauterized and one was more like a hole and they plugged it. He stared bleeding again and now they r saying they found a mass in his stomach. They want to compare the tests from November and the ones from now and see if this was there before. I've been googling this and everything indicates stomach cancer. Is this correct? what do they for stomach cancer ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
If this is proved to be cancer by pathohistologic analysis then the only possible cure would be surgical procedure, called gastrectomy which is removal of whole stomach. So you should see surgeon for further treatement. IF this is not malignant tumor then some other solutions may be considered.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
