What Are The Possible Treatments For Viral Respiratory Infection?
I have a viral upper respiratory infection going on right now (as does my wife). Our Primary Care Doc. has ruled out any type of allergy, and has prescribed "Chertussin - a mix of Codeine and an expectorate." I also have a Metronic Consulta PM implanted in May 2012, and this is the first URI I've had to deal with since. Before my URI, my BP numbers were typically 118/75 pulse 86. The past few days, these numbers have been 115/69 pulse 105 to 120. Can the infection increase my pulse as it has, and is it a concern? Primary Doc. suggests keep tabs on my pulse rate, and notify my Electrophysiologist if the number remains high for a week or so.
The pulse rate can be high if u r having fever alongwith your coughing. Keep yourself well hydrated as it can also be a cause for the high pulse. If high pulse remains persistent then better get a prescription for an antibiotic by your family physician as it can be an indication of ongoing infection.
