What Are The Precautions To Be Taken Post Total Hip Replacement Surgery?

Is there a hereditary link to the formation of contractures in the elderly?
How long do individuals who have had total hip replacements typically have to abide by hip precautions i.e no bending beyond 90 degrees, no crossing legs, no internal/external hip rotation?
