What Are The Recovery Chances From Coma Subdural Hematoma?
My husband is in a coma subdural hematoma which was diagnosed as well as a stroke that led to his state now the doctors want to embark immediately as he has not improved but is stabilized they want to have a tracheostomy tomorrow .what are his chances of recovering was told his brain stem was affected and thus his sight might be affected? Is there ever going to be a chance he might pull through as this happened about a week ago?
His clinical conditions seem to be really serious. The tracheostomy is needed for the respiratory assistance as the brainstem is responsible for the respiration.
We can not determine if he will recovery from this medical condition. Time will show it.
Even though the brainstem has been damaged, as blood is absorbed there are still chances of recovery.
I would recommend giving him another chance with tracheostomy, as otherwise it will be the end.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
