General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
To relieve nasal block, due to allergic sinusitis usually following treatment plan is given
Avoid exposure to allergy,/ avoid exposure to cold, oily, spicy food.vapor inhailation with vicks.
Use of anti allergic drugs with decongestants in prescribed dose ( the Claritin D To be taken 12 hourly after food for minimum 5 days/till the sinusitis is under control.
antibiotic is added if the nasal discharge is thick/yellow/green/there is fever
Flonase is a steroidal preparation,so it is to be used conservatively ( only after an ENT specialist's recommendation)
Mast cell blockers are prooven to be of much help.
desensatisation is permanent remedy for the particular allergy.
Thanks
