Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Repercussion Of Missing Sotalol Dose?
I take 120 mg of sotalol at 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM every day for atrial fib. I just checked my pills and am not sure i took my 6:30 PM pill. What happens if I take one now (10:45 PM) and I HAD taken my 6:30 PM pill? My normal heart rate on this normal dosage of sotalol is 50 to 52 bpm.
You should be careful about such drugs because missing it or taking it double both re risky. If you are not sure and your heart rate is 52, I would suggest you should not take another pill now because your pulse is already low so another one may drop it too much.
However if you feel palpitations or racing of heart then you should take it but that is unlikely with pulse of 52.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
General & Family Physician
