What Are The Repercussion Of Missing A Dose Of Prozac?

My granddaughter is on the lowest dose of Prozac for anxiety, she is 12 yrs old, and spending the night with us. She has forgotten her meds, and has been upgraded to this drug only recently. What are the repercussions if she doesn t have the med tonight? How can I relieve her distress?

I really understand your concern.

She should take the missed dose as soon as possible.
Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for her next scheduled dose.
She shouldn't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

If your granddaughter miss a dose of Prozac weekly, she should take the missed dose as soon as she remember and take the next dose 7 days later. However, if it is almost time for the next regularly scheduled weekly dose, your granddaughter should skip the missed dose and take the next one as directed. She shouldn't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
