Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Repercussions Of Accidental Overdose Of Ibuprofen In A Child?
I think my daughter has taken some ibuprofen not sure how many she is two years old I can t find a packet so it could have been one that I have dropped and not noticed but her friend says she ate a pink sweet out of my bedroom what should I look for and how long does it take for signs to happen after ingesting?
Ibuprofen if taken in larger doses can cause vomiting, abdominal pain, irritation to the stomach, ulcer or bleeding. It may take few minutes to hours to cause these side effects. I advise you to observe your daughter for the side effects mentioned above. She must be seen in the emergency in case if she develops the above symptoms.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
