What Are The Repercussions Of Switching From Jalra To Telma?
I am a diabetic since last 18 years. I was taking Jalra M 50/500 twice along with one Gemar LP in the morning and Gemar 1 at night. Along with these i am taking telsar 80 in the morning. I was ok...under control. But doc. changed my drug to Jalra 50 twice daily and telma 80(40+40). after taking this new dose my parameters gone up...was my previous doses of medicines were correct and continue?
Some times it is advisable not to continue metformin dosage beyond 1.85 gm per day to protect your kidney and avoid gastric discomfort so probablly your doctor has discontinued that 500 mg from your Jalra. Decision regarding T.Telma/Telsar is often taken on the basis of Blood pressure and kidney functions. It will be more advisable to get your kidney functions like, s.creat, urine routine, GFR, U.microalbumin/U.creatinine ratio cbc,s.electrolyte done as your duration of diabetes is more than 18 years . If you already have diabetes related eye, kidney ,leg, heart involvement then some times it is safer and better to start small dose of insulin then trying very high dosage of tablets to get your HbA1C below 7%
