What Are The Risks Involved At Being Diagnosed With Preeclampsia During Pregnancy?

Hello... my niece was diagnosed with preeclampsia and HBP today, and is 8 mos. pregnant. The plan is to induce labor tonight. The family would like to know exactly what preeclampsia is, what the risks are to both Mom and baby, and how normal or indluced labor mght affect the situation. Welcome to HCM
Preeclampsia is increase in blood pressure in pregnancy after 20 weeks of gestation to >140/90 mmHg.
It can be controlled by various drugs like nicardia,magnesium sulphate.
But if there are imminent symptoms of ecclampsia like blurring of vision, headache,blood in the urine,the best treatment would be delivery of the baby as soon as possible.It is safe for mother as well as for baby also.
If left untreated it can proceed to ecclampsia resulting in convulsions.Once baby is delivered,symptoms will regress.
