What Are The Side Effects From Taking Nortriptyline, Prozac And Cannabis?
Hello I m concerned about my Nortriptyline and Prozac. I ve been on these two drugs for 28 years. A few years ago I had two breast cancer diagnosis and had major chemo and over a period of two years many different drugs. Consequently I stopped sleeping. I ve had ME/CFS for 30 years which comes with sleep disorder. So I began marajuana for sleep. No smoking just a night time dose and it s worked great. But I find I need a bit more now so have been taking a bit more each night. Well my brain plays music now. I wake up with a lot of tunes just playing in my head. I m seriously depressed, I m hopeless, I forget lots of things, I m miserable. Are these three drugs doing something weird now.
Your symptoms are suggestive of marijuana addiction and tolerance (adverse effects). It is not your drugs. Anyway, some interaction between marijuana and your current therapy is leading to this situation too. Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your psychiatrist and discussing about some changes in your current therapy. In the meantime, I would recommend a gradual reduce in marijuana dosage.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
