What Are The Side Effects Of Amiodarone?

I have A-Fib . My heart doctor has recommended that I stop taking Digoxin , and start taking Amiodarone hydrochloride ? I have just read all the negative effects of Amiodarone , and have some hesitation starting a regiment of the Amiodarone with all the dire death warnings? Your thoughts on taking Amiodarone ?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Read the positive /good benefits of amiodarone too ,its a best broad spectrum anti arrhythmic agent
Usually benefits have to be balanced with risks
I am sure your doctor wont keep the amiodarone for long term
and will look for the signs of its toxicity on regular followups

Hope i have answered your query.
