How To Treat Breast Mastitis?

I HAVE BEEN TAKING VERAPAMIL HCL 80 MG TABS FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS NOW 1 AND A HALF TABS IN THE MORNING AND 1 AND A HALF TABS AT NIGHT LATELY I HAVE BEEN ITCHING ALOT I WOKE MYSELF UP A FEW NIGHTS AGO SCRATCHING MY BREAST REALLY HARD NOW MY DR.SAYS I HAVE MASTITIS IN BOTH MY BREASTS COULD THIS BE CAUSED FROM THE VERAPAMIL HCL?

Hi,

With breast abscess mainstay of treatment is drainage after incision. Mostly used antibiotics are nafcillin, vancomycin, clindamycin, ampicillin-sulbactam, cloxacillin etc. Stay compliant to the medication and stay in touch with your doctor. Stay hydrated, use pain killers like tylenol for the pain and use antibiotics.
