Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have taken amox-clav for 12 days. The last three days I have experienced substantial muscle fatigue and overall tired, weak feeling. I have two days left but considering not finishing the prescription although doctor stressed the importance of taking all the medicine. YYYY@YYYY . Just forget it
I strongly advise that you call your doctor and report these symptoms. If the infection that you are using the antibiotic for is improving, the risk-benefit ratio may be in favor of you discontinuing the antibiotic. Amoxicillin with clavulanate can cause liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal problems (diarrhea and c. dif infection), kidney, and blood disorders and yeast infections. While these things (other than diarrhea and yeast overgrowth)are relatively rare, I think your symptoms warrant consideration. I recommend not taking any further until you have spoken with your doctor.
I hope this information helps.
