What Are The Side Effects Of Avodart And Pravastatin?
I take provastatin for cholestrol and avodart for enlarged prostate; frequently I feel an inflamation of my lower lip and oftern will have painful sores... I read that the side affects of each of these drugs include swelling of the lips. Are there drugs that don t have this side effect? I am 71 years old, nonsmoker, excellent ht&wt no other health issues. Tom
Avodart contains dutasteride, which prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. It is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. Less serious side effects with its use include: decreased libido (sex drive), decreased amount of semen during ejaculation, impotence (trouble getting or keeping an erection) and breast tenderness or enlargement.
Pravastatin is in a group of drugs called HMG CoA reductase inhibitors, or "statins." It is used to lower cholesterol and triglycerides (types of fat) in the blood. Commonly reported side effects with use of pravastatin include: chest pain, muscle weakness or tenderness, alterations of liver enzymes and damage to the kidneys.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
