Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I hv taken betenesol due to alopecia for approx 1 year & now approx 1 year i hv taken betenesol forte... What are the side effects i am gonna face?? I m already hving problm of restlessness & low eye sight Morever, I hv heard its a slow poison Is it really so???
The common side effects of Betnesol Forte (a corticosteroid) include stomach acidity related issues like gastritis or ulcer, high blood pressure, increased blood sugar, thinning of the bones / skin, mood changes, increased facial hair growth, muscle weakness, swelling of the feet and legs, cataract and glaucoma.
Based on the history you seem to have developed cataract. Advised to consult your doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medicine to treat alopecia.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
