Hello, Assuming you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, Boniva would be a good medication for treating this and helping to prevent bone fractures. Usually, patients do not have any serious side effects, but if they do, it usually is upset stomach, back pain, and sometimes can increase the risk for respiratory infections. It can also cause blood pressure to go up, headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and occasionally many other side effects. But for you, I would consider it worth the risks, and you can at least try it and if it causes a lot of problems, you can always stop it or switch to another medication.
