What Are The Side Effects Of Brewer S Yeast?

My internest recently put me on Brewers yeast tablets. I got laryngitis after using Symbicort inhaler for a few weeks for SOB. I had poor pulmonary function tests. have COPD. My question is what can I expect from taking the Brewers yeast and is there any side effects I should be concerned with. I am 77 years old and have gastric hyperstasis and high B/P and high cholesterol and now COPD.

Hi,

The most common side effects are excess gas, bloating, and migraine-like headaches. Stop taking brewer's yeast and contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience chest pain, throat or chest tightness, or difficulty breathing. These side effects may indicate an allergic reaction to brewer's yeast.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
