Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for your beloved father.
The prescribed antituberculosis medications are generally safe and well tolerated. However the following side effects can occur.
1. R Cinex (Isoniazid+
Rifampicin) can cause harmless reddish coloured urine, flu like symptoms, decreased platelet levels, neuritis (pain and
tingling sensation in the hands and feet), nausea, vomiting, etc.
He needs Pyridoxine supplement to overcome the neuritis caused by Isoniazid.
2. Pyzina (
Pyrazinamide) can cause pain and swelling in the joints (due to increased blood uric acid), nausea and vomiting.
Both of the above medications can cause yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) fever, right sided
abdominal pain due to liver toxicity. In this case, he must stop taking all the prescribed medications and consult his treating physician for an alternate but safe medications to treat his
lymph node infection.
Regarding his tiredness or sleepiness, he needs to be examined by his treating doctor to rule out any underlying complications of tuberculosis or other diseases.
Hope the suggestions given above would be useful.
