What Are The Side Effects Of Cortisone Shots?

Received two shots of cortisone in my right foot the day before yesterday for two neuromas in the ball of my foot. Three hours later felt extremely dizzy, sick to my stomach and today have had diarrhea and stomach pain. I had asked the Orthopedic Surgeon before getting these if I would have any side effects and she said No. that the dosage was minimal she was giving me. I know these symptoms are a result of the shots.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely the symptoms you are explaining are due to a viral infection you may be going through.
I would advise you to get omeprazole 40 mg 30 minutes before breakfast and make sure you do drink frequent small amounts of water (fluids) and eat frequent small amounts of food so you do not vomit.
Make sure you rest well and if you are not better in 3-4 days or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
