Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My daughter who suffers from a seizure disorder had her diastat increased from 10 ml, which she has been on for years to 12.5ml last night due to elevated seizures. We are showing possible side effects from the increase. What are the most common side effects?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello,
Diastat is given to control acute rise in seizures for a short time along with routine medicines to control seizures.
Did you find increased side effects due to raised dose after the medicine (which may exhibit just drowsiness, dizziness or unsteadiness, mood changes or trouble in speaking, walking et cetera and not the seizures)?
If she has effects of overdose of Diastat (as mentioned in bracket) or increase in seizures, please consult her doctor urgently.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
